Please try to follow theses guidelines for taking and submitting photos for
publishing on the CCBCC web site. If you are unable to follow or work
with these guidelines, feel free
to email me,
CCBCC WebMaster,
and
explain the circumstances or situation and one way or another we'll
get it done and get your picture up on the web site!
File Size - Very important!!! We
can NOT place photos that are large in physical size or resolution on our
web site, 1st because large photos on our web site take forever
for members on dial-up to be able to see on their screen and 2nd
because we don't have enough storage room.
When
taking your pictures try to use settings on your camera that will produce
pictures that have a width of approximately 640 pixels and a height of 480
pixels (which means a file size of about 80KB to 120KB). OR use your photo software to reduce the picture to that size.
FREE software that I often use to resize lots of photos fast and even change
their formats (JPG to GIF, etc) is available for download at
www.imageresizer.com! Unsure of what size the pictures are on the
computer from your camera? Try this:
Note your camera settings, take a picture, move the
picture file to your disk, then
look at the size of the file, if it's about 70KB to 120KB, then you are probably
there. If it is 200KB or larger, then it's just too big. If you have
two camera settings, one controlling RESOLUTION and one controlling
QUALITY, try changing these settings (e.g. selecting RESOLUTION as HIGH, and QUALITY as BETTER).
Anything less than width of 640 pixels and a
height of 480 pixels (overall size less than 70 KB) will most likely result in pictures that look poor.
File
Naming - If you name (or rename) the picture file, do NOT use spaces, commas, periods, or
any other special symbols. Use only lower case
standard letters of the alphabet, numbers 0 thru 9, underscore _ and hyphen. File Format
- JPG (or JPEG) is the preferred file format, but if need be, we can work
with GIF, TIFF and others Submission
- Digital photos should be emailed as attachments to
CCBCC WebMaster with a
brief explanation of the subject material. If your photo is not
digital, you can take them to a store, such as Target, where they will
digitize them for you. |
